IViR summer course on international copyright law

From 1 to 5 July 2019, the Institute for Information Law (IViR), affiliated with the University of Amsterdam, will hold its annual Summer Course on International Copyright Law at the Tropeninstituut in Amsterdam.

Due to the constant evolution of the digital networked environment and the multitude of legislative initiatives at the international and European level, copyright law is subject to constant change. The International Copyright Law course will discuss recent developments and broader trends in copyright law. A dedicated faculty of renowned scholars and practitioners from Europe and the US will examine the most crucial current issues of copyright law from a comparative law perspective and in the light of recent regional agreements.

The course is aimed at lawyers, government officials, NGO staff, academics, PhD students and others involved in questions of copyright law. The course is taught at the post-graduate level and employs a small-scale seminar format that promotes interaction between participants and faculty, allowing for a more in-depth examination of the subjects in comparison with other professional conferences. Enrollment is limited to 25 participants.

For more information on the program of the course as well as the fees and registration procedure, please visit the website of the International Copyright Law Summer Course or send an e-mail to informationlaw@uva.nl.
